The Turn & Learn Arrays & Multiplication Board provides a simple and effective way to introduce multiplication strategies, arrays and the product patterns.

• Factors are the yellow numbers across the top row and down the first column
• Products are the numbers in white and red
• Red numbers are the square numbers and divide the board diagonally in half. This division allows you to demonstrate the Commutative Property of Multiplication.

It is however the option to visually present multiplication strategies using arrays that makes this board quite different from the traditional multiplication grid.

1. Skip Counting Turn all cubes in the top row to blank and start each row of dots in the first column. By turning the cube following the last dot in each row, the number of dots in the array is displayed.
2. Arrays Each tables fact can be shown as an array. Begin the array with the dot on the second cube in the second row. The yellow factors are used with this option.

Reversing the board provides a grid of yellow and white dots to present other maths concepts. For example:

• Turn-around arrays to show the Commutative Property
• Part-part-whole relationships
• Tens facts
• Percentages and decimals
• Repeating and growing patterns
• Giving directions using coordinates and NSEW
